Denise Mwebe – Youth Leader and Project Manager, YTB Kisubi, Uganda

Leading Tailoring and Personal Hygiene Projects

Hello,

I’m Denise, and I’m going to show you how to use our reusable sanitary pads.

It has 3 layers. The front part is wool-like, the middle is cotton-like, so we insert this cotton part inside the pad. The back part is polythene-like to prevent blood from leaking. After getting this reusable sanitary pad, we take our undergarment and turn it so that we can attach the reusable sanitary pad in the middle. Then, you place the button to make sure the reusable sanitary pad is fixed to the undergarment. After that, you turn the garment back, and you fix the reusable sanitary pad properly. Then after, it is ready to be used.

After wearing it, it feels comfortable. She can run, exercise, and go anywhere without feeling uncomfortable. So, the pad is comfortable for everyone. Thank you so much for supporting us.

YTB supports transition-age youth, in mostly vulnerable circumstances or having a history of trauma, with transformational opportunities to lead community service projects. These youth need and want opportunities to continue their education, make a difference, and live lives as free as possible from the physical and environmental threats they face daily. YTB puts opportunities, training, and resources in the same space as youth with determination and capability. YTB changes the odds for youth development via giving and receiving for connected community.

YTB coordinates resources, connections, and opportunities for growth that we hope to continue expanding in the future. Timebanking works for us.
